Clearly noted next to Johns name is 'Gardeners' and beneath this 'Pub'. Furthermore, in the 1851 census, which has more detail supplied, the Savory family are living at #4, TimberHill.

Aged 70, John Savory lives with his son, Matthew, (Aged 35), and on a subsequent 1841 entry from 1841, John's wife Elizabeth (aged 70) appears.

It can only be assumed, that Matthew Savory was helping his parents run the pub in their old age. By 1851, both John and Elizabeth have died. Matthew was already married to Maria in 1841, with a daughter Elizabeth (aged 17 in 1841) a son Thomas (aged 13 in 1841), who went on to be licensee of the Three Tuns, Lower King Street, Norwich, in 1867 - John (aged 10 in 1841) Richard (aged 9 in 1841) and daughter Maria (aged 1 in 1841). The Savory Family are registered at 4 TimberHill, but Matthew is not! He is registered at the time of 1851 Census, as living at The Great Hospital, working as a 'House Porter & Cook at the Institution', and appears on the entry for his wife Maria, as 'Husband Porter at GR Hospital'

The Savory family were replaced by William Bales by 1850.
